This is the process most people having gone through separation or divorce would be familiar with.
Each person engages a lawyer to negotiate on his or her behalf. Instructions are sought from their clients and the lawyers usually negotiate with each other through written correspondence.
The participants and their lawyers might also agree to meet for round table discussions or engage in mediation. If no resolution is reached, one of the participants will eventually start Court proceedings.
This option is good for those people who prefer to have their lawyers take the lead and do the negotiating on their behalf.
